The young musicians of the Montreal Cello Ensemble join Aditya Verma on sarod, Subir Dev on tabla and their teacher Josh Fink for a workshop-concert at the Festival du Monde Arabe de Montréal.
Discover the melodies of ragas and the rhythms of talas, and explore them with the artists. Advanced students from the ensemble will perform ragas alongside sarod and tabla, bringing Indian classical music together with the cello and a new generation of musicians.
Aditya Verma will share the story of his studies with Pandit Ravi Shankar and how he passed this tradition on to Josh Fink, who adapted it for young cellists. This workshop-concert is part of the festival’s “Raconte-moi ton instrument” series.
Featuring: Aditya Verma · Subir Dev · Josh Fink · the Montreal Cello Ensemble
